KEY DELIVERABLES.

  • User research
  • Wireframes
  • Information Architecture
  • Prototyping
  • Alpha Release

To begin, we gained a clear picture of the SMB banking world, but some elements stood out more than others. Our insights showed us that entrepreneurs mostly care that their banking is high yield, transparent and their bank being mindlessly easy to use.

In only 8 weeks, we brought the client a prototype demonstrating the ease of use when making a payment. When it comes to small businesses, payments are made super frequently and entrepreneurs find it most challenging to use this feature with their current solutions. Our perspective, after speaking with users, was to shift the structure of the entire payment process on it’s head.

After getting approval from our client to proceed forward with the $20mm project, we realigned our design direction working directly within the Amex ecosystem. We adhered closely to the existing standards, but reimagined UX/UI where we thought there could be improvements for our use case. The end result being: several key epics and user journies representing our alpha and beta releases.

To hand off the work we had done, we documented all our customer insights, decision reasonings, new components and behaviors across devices and screen widths into a library for the new team members to utilize out of the gate. By the end of the project, the Quicksilver working team had gone from 11 to over 110 people.
